David Pham: The Fearsome Dragon as a World Series of Poker Two-Time Champion

As the cousin of the highly successful six-time WSOP champion Men Nguyen, David Pham tries to build his very own excellent legacy as a two-time Annual World Series of Poker championship. Known for his intimidating nickname as the 'Dragon,' he owns one of the most impressive WSOP records in recent years. Aside from his two major WSOP titles, he also had a stunning 22 money finishes in the past events, as well as career earnings of up to 943,666.

Pham's glorious stint as an Annual World Series of Poker started in 2000, when he played in two super exciting and highly competitive poker tournaments for the 31st Annual World Series of Poker. At the $2,000 No-Limit Holdem Event 8, he had a very solid performance, finishing at fourth place to win $47,520. On the other hand, he also had a nice game at the $3,000 No-Limit Holdem Event 20, as he took the eighth place overall to win a nice prize amounting to $18,060.

A year after his debut season, Pham immediately won his very first WSOP crown after capturing the top spot in the $2,000 Limit S.H.O.E. event of the 32nd Annual World Series of Poker in 2001, where he won $140,455. In that very same season, he also participated in the $2,000 Pot-Limit Holdem Event 12, snatching the 20th place overall to win a decent prize of $3,145. Furthermore, he also played in the prestigious $10,000 No-Limit Holdem World Championship, where he placed 44th overall for a handsome prize of $20,000.

After so-so performances in the 2002, 2003, and 2004 seasons, Pham took the 2005 season by storm as he played in four different yet highly competitive poker tournaments for the 36th Annual World Series of Poker. His biggest game for this particular season took place at the $1,000 No-Limit Holdem Event 7, wherein he placed fourth overall to earn a considerable prize of $154,125.

By 2006, things were really looking great for Pham as he played in three all-important events for the 37th Annual World Series of Poker. From these highly competitive poker tournaments, he succeeded in the $2,000 No-Limit Holdem Shootout event, where he snatched first place to win the grand pot valued at $240,222. Consequently, this major victory also earned him a second WSOP championship bracelet. In 2007, he also played in a couple of events for the 38th Annual World Series of Poker, one of which was a fourth place finish at the $3,000 Limit Holdem Event 34.

In the 2008 season, Pham continued his consistent winning ways with decent performances in a couple of poker tournaments for the 39th Annual World Series of Poker. He placed 157th overall at the $2,000 No-Limit Holdem Event 48, while he fared better at the $1,500 No-Limit Holdem Event 49 by finishing 26th place overall.
